Once you have decided on a particular item of clothing, use the following instructions to determine your sizes. For best results, use a cloth measuring tape.
Men
Neck: Measure around the neck just above the shoulders.
Sleeve: With arm relaxed at side and slightly bent, measure from center back neck, over point of shoulder, down the outside of the arm to the wrist.
Chest: Measure just under the arms and across shoulder blades with arms relaxed at side. Keep tape level.
Waist: Measure around the waist at your normal waistband. Note: For waistcoats, if your stomach is larger than your waist, please include that measurement also.
Inseams: Measure inside leg while standing. For breeches, from crotch to 2″ below knee. For trousers, from crotch to desired length at ankle. For Military Overalls, from crotch to floor.
Women
Neck to Waist: For Shortgown, measure from center back neck, down the spine to the waist.
Bust: Measure around the fullest point of the bust, across shoulder blades. Keep tape level.
Skirt length: Measure from waist to desired length at ankle.
Hips: Measure around fullest point of seat while standing.
Thigh: Measure around fullest part of upper leg while standing.
Note: For women ordering men’s clothing, give sizes asked for as well as bust, hips or thigh if applicable.
